It read, “I’d Be Lion – Mondays, starting March 10th.” Intrigued and eager to showcase his skills, Sir Roars-A-Lot gracefully shook out his mane, padded through the door, and elicited stunned silence from the crowd.
The chessboards were already set, and Sir Roars-A-Lot didn’t take long to claim his first opponent. Each move he made was precise and cunning, captivating those lucky enough to watch. Players whispered in awe as Sir Roars-A-Lot baited queens, ensnared knights, and forced kings to their knees in checkmate after checkmate. His expertise turned the tournament into an unforgettable spectacle, igniting a spark of excitement and determination in everyone present.

The "I'd Be Lion" tournament was a roaring success. It brought thrilling chess battles and showcased the remarkable growth within our community.
William won the event and was named Sir Roars-A-Lot, a title celebrating his outstanding performance and unyielding determination. His matches were a testament to skill and strategy, leaving the audience in awe of his gameplay. Another particularly memorable match was the showdown between Grant and Andrew(1), the two top-rated players on our ladder. Grant secured an impressive but narrow victory in what many call an epic battle. The event was a roaring success, bringing thrilling chess battles and showcasing the remarkable growth within our community.
It’s been fantastic to see how much progress everyone has made recently! A special congratulations and award for the most improved goes to Emerson, who has achieved an impressive milestone by gaining 112 rating points over the last three months—an outstanding accomplishment.
