Awaken Your Inner Grandmaster: Join the CDA Chess Club This Season

Summer break is officially over, so it's time to welcome back the CDA Chess Club for another great season of friendly competition and skill-building. Whether you are a beginner learning the game or a seasoned expert looking for challenging opponents, we have something for everyone. So don't hesitate to join us at our regular Monday meetings in the cozy surroundings of the NIC Student Union or our junior club that meets on Thursdays at Burger King in Post Falls.

Our meeting on August 24th was a success, with seven junior players, including new member Payton, joining in for a lively session of chess playing. Leo emerged as the winner that day, but each game was a unique opportunity to learn and improve. That's why we are excited to welcome all newcomers and old hands to our club, regardless of skill level. We are friendly, supportive, and eager to share our love of the game.

We have some exciting news to share with members and non-members: an upcoming chess tournament on September 9th in Coeur d'Alene Park for both Rated and Unrated players. This is a great chance to test your skills against people outside our club and earn recognition for your achievements. Even if you don't feel ready for a tournament, it can still be a great way to meet other chess players and get inspired to practice more.

Speaking of practice, we encourage all chess enthusiasts to renew their interest in the club and to participate in our chess ladder. If you don't see your name on the ladder, now is a great time to rejoin and to aim high for your goals. Chess is about winning or losing, learning from your opponents, honing your strategy, and building your confidence. We guarantee you will make friends, learn something new, and have fun.

Finally, our chess club is a welcoming and inclusive environment for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Chess is a game that can bring people together, challenge their minds, and foster a sense of community. We have seen firsthand how our members have improved their focus, problem-solving skills, and sportsmanship by playing chess. We hope you will allow us to prove it to you, too. Not a member? Sign up now!

Welcome back to the chess club, everyone! We hope this new season will be even more exciting and educational than the last one. Remember, we meet every Monday at the NIC Student Union and Thursdays at Burger King in Post Falls and welcome all visitors and new members. Our club is a great way to unwind after a long day, to challenge yourself intellectually, and to make new connections with people who share your passion. Let's make this a year to remember!
