On January 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. Pacific, the CDA Chess Club invites you to participate in a special 3-round Swiss tournament hosted on Lichess.org. This dual-rated event (CDA Chess Ladder and Lichess) offers a chance to test your skills in a fun and welcoming environment.

Whether you're a current or past ladder participant or a proud member of the CDA Chess Club, this is your opportunity to embrace the spirit of new beginnings as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and message of unity and growth.

With a time control of G/20, the format is fast-paced yet fair, ensuring plenty of engaging matchups. We're bringing the chess community together like never before and want YOU to be part of it.

Pre-registration is required to participate in this exciting tournament. All players must be members of the CDA Chess team on Lichess.org before the event.   The Winter Wizardry Chess Tournament has been an enchanting adventure from start to finish, filled with camaraderie, strategy, and unforgettable moments. It all began excitedly on December 2, as players gathered for the first rounds at Riverstone McDonald’s. The atmosphere was electric from the beginning, with participants eager to showcase their skills and enjoy a magical battle on the chessboard. Throughout the tournament, we’ve seen players old and new deliver thrilling performances. The games on December 9 brought twists and fierce competition, leaving William and Andrew tied at the top of the leaderboard with 3 points each.
