All-American Chess Board Derby: Week 2 Recap & What’s Next!
The second week of the All-American Chess Board Derby saw another light turnout—summer vacations and the recent holiday kept things quieter than usual. However, the evening still brought new faces and meaningful community moments to Riverstone McDonald’s.
New player Luke joined us this week, enjoying a friendly side game with Rick and bringing fresh energy to the group. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Barb and Kim, who are here on behalf of a national non-profit to collect data on the positive impact community organizations like ours have on the local area. Barb and Kim will be with us for an extended visit, getting to know our club and its members.
Week 2 Standings: Division Leaders Emerge
Advanced Division:
- Emerson surged into the lead by earning a draw against Andrew, putting him at 3.5 points.
- Victor and Greg went head-to-head for two games, as other competitors were away this week. Victor leads with 3 points, followed by Lee at 2, and Greg at 1.
