Throughout this tournament, 22 players participated, showcasing new talent and the return of familiar faces, bringing vibrancy and excitement to every round.
The final evening saw 10 competitors battle in rounds 5 and 6. Ultimately, Eric emerged as the overall winner, demonstrating consistency and skill by winning all six matches. Andrew Sr. claimed second place, scoring an impressive 5 points throughout the tournament. With 4 points, Emerson rounded out the top three, building on his strong performance from earlier rounds and cementing his place among the tournament's standout players.
We were delighted to welcome back Robert Stemmons and Brad Niemann, who are returning to the club after a long absence. Their participation added depth to the competition and highlighted our chess community's welcoming and dynamic nature.
The Chess Ladder has been updated to reflect the changes from these final rounds and the MLK Tournament on January 20th. Players can now see how the tournament's outcomes have impacted their standings.
